I would like you to know that true to the title of your seminar. "A New & Practical Approach To Export Credit & Financing Opportunities", I must be one of the biggest beneficiaries.
I met Judd Welsh of the West African Trads hub and the Oyo State Commissioner for Commerce at the two day event. We have since gone on to a proposed Public Private Partnership arrangement, that would lead to a vertical integration of our Cashew processing plant with the state owned Cashew plantations.
Specifically, ACET will lease the plantations and refurbish the defunct state owned processing plant in Ibadan. The net effect is that we can increase our processing capacity to meet the current orders on hand from our US buyer (approx $3.0m annually).
In addition, 2500 new jobs will be created both at the processing plants and the plantations to be revitilised.
The WATH through their financial consultant J Welsh is also playing an active part in putting the project together by arranging finance. A loan request for $2.5m has been sent in on our behalf to Greylock Capital of NY, and their representatives will be in Lagos this week. I am meeting with them on Thursday.
All this would not have been possible if i was not at your seminar. Please extend my appreciation to Her Exellency, Ms Renee Sanders, US Ambassador to Nigeria whose support and active participation also made it happen.
You can see why i said earlier that i benefited the most from the event. Please keep it up and put me on your radar for any subsequent events.
Regards,
