The Secrets to Business Success - bOOT CAMP III

The Secrets to Business Success boot camp hit four more state capitals, as the third phase of the capacity building program took place from July 30th 2008 to August 12th 2008. The states that benefited from this exercise include Niger, Cross River, Enugu and Ekiti states respectively, making it a total of eleven states as of August 2008.

The instructor of the Secrets to Business Success III, Mr. Saafir Rabb II, CEO of Managing Opportunities Inc, a strategic planning and development consulting firm based in Baltimore, was supported by Mr. C D Glin, Vice President of Citizens Development Corps of Washington DC and Mr. Damani Ingrahm, Attorney to Managing Opportunities Inc. As with previous states, the curriculum helped participants understand proven strategies and baseline requirements to achieving business success.

In a new approach, the instructors introduced an innovative strategy called the 6 M’s. These 6 M’s help to evaluate business foundation and implementation and are delineated as:

  • Material
  • Machination
  • Manpower
  • Money
  • Marketing
  • Management

Also, methods such as minding your business, basics of business finance, making a SWOT analysis and international best practices of SME’s were taught during the day-and-half intensive boot camp. The Bank of Industry, our partners in this initiative, were also on ground to discuss BOI loan facilities and programs.
Over 1,500 participants benefited from this boot camp. Rimsom Associates facilitated the boot camp, and preparations for Secrets to Business Success IV have already begun.
